Some times you need a sense of humor, Tibet is important but lighten up!

Should life always be serious? Hell no. It needs to be fun some times too. That was my take on the Groupon ad in the Superbowl. I know what is happening in Tibet is serious. It has been serious for a really really long time. Do I know how long. NO. Does it matter? NO. What matters is it sucks and it’s not right and we should want it to change. Remember the 90s? The Beastie Boys made sure we all knew how wrong it was. So we all get it.

That being said…I can’t be serious all the time. I loved the ad. It started off like the typical guilt fest than quickly turned into a laugh fest. I think it is similar to looking at The Simpsons VS Family Guy. The Simpsons tends to be slightly smarter humor that requires thought process. You don’t have to over think it like some horrible Dennis Miller jokes on Monday Night Football but you have to put a small amount of effort into it. However that is not needed with Family Guy. No thought process is needed. In fact if you try to think while watching it chances are they will beat the thought out of you with mindless repetition. Think about Peter and “the bird is the word”. Or pretty much any other joke they do. But guess what? Some times you want dumb stupid entertainment. I won’t apologize for that. I will stand up and proudly say I liked the ad. It was funny. It made me laugh. Thank you Groupon.

TOO many ideas and not enough time!

I have so many things I want to blog about. Here is the quick list.

  1. Egypt and their revolution
  2. The groupon Tibet Superbowl ad
  3. Aol buying the Huffington post. Sold out to a corporation. So much for caring about their stories.
  4. Chase pulling the plug on their program to let people in the military suspend student loan payments
  5. If the cyber crack down in Egypt was really the fault of an American company who sold the spy software that helped make it possible
  6. I would love to write a blog on Anderson Silva and how amazing a fighter he is, the possible super fight between him and GSP George Saint-Pierre! and of course the involvement of Steven Segal in MMA yeah, WTF!

The problem I run into is I just don’t have enough time for a full blog. So I’m pumping my ideas out where, in hopes that I don’t lose them, and can come back to them and complete them.

Wish me luck.
